United States History is a general survey of the development of the of the United States and  its people from the Civil War era to the present. The course begins with an overview of the principles of the United States Constitution and the American political process. It then proceeds chronologically/topically through the next 150 years of American historical development. Much opportunity exists for the study of contemporary affairs and issues as they evolve out of past experience. This is a level 1 course required for graduation by the state of Maryland
