This technology training series is open to both parents and seniors that are part of the St. Margaret community. The series currently consists of 5 five-week mini sessions.

There are absolutely no prerequisites for taking the courses. Beginners are welcome and encouraged to join us.

Parents, have you ever felt that your children know more about the computer than you do? This series provides the opportunity for you to become familiar with the technology tools that your children are learning in school.

Seniors, come learn more about the technology tools of the new millenium.

All sessions will be held in the St. Margaret Elementary School computer lab from 7:00 - 9:00.

The cost of EACH session is $50.

 
Session 1:
Focus: Basic Computer and Internet Skills
Dates: Oct. 9, 16, 23, 30 and Nov. 6
Topics:
     Opening programs and files
     Computer organization/creating and naming folders
     Mouse skills
     Internet searches
     Internet safety
 
 
Session 2:
Focus: Microsoft Word
Dates: Nov. 20, 27, and Dec. 4, 11, 18
Topics:
     Basic word processing skills
      Saving
     Inserting clipart images
     Inserting images from the internet
     Creating tables
 
 
Session 3:
Focus: Microsoft Power Point
Dates: Jan. 8, 15, 22, 29 and Feb. 5
Topics:
     Creating slideshows
     Inserting clipart and images from the internet
   Adding hyperlinks to web pages
     Using a digital camera and scanner to add images to a slideshow
 
 
Session 4:
Focus: Microsoft Excel
Dates: Feb. 26 and Mar. 5, 12, 19, 26
Topics:
     creating spreadsheets
     creating and using formulas
     creating charts and graphs
 
 
 
Session 5:
Focus: Microsoft Publisher
Dates: April 16, 23 and May 7, 14, 21
Topics:
     working with graphics
     Creating signs, banners, cards
    Creating newsletters
